What do Little Flowers Have to Do with Anything?

Last month, my precious redhead was on a singing tour. She had a solo and I tried desperately to get a good picture of her as she sang, I could only snap away and hope that something was halfway decent. Tears blinded me. The words came through all too clearly and they hurt.

Last weekend, I told you about my daughter and her singing tour with a group from Dallas Christian College. She had a humbling experience that had nothing to do with her singing, but everything to do with her spiritual condition. My precious redhead had been consumed with the performance when she met a foreign missionary who had returned to the states with cancer. He was, in her words, spending some of the last moments of his life encouraging the next generation.

My precious red-head just texted me. She is on a tour with a large group of teenagers, the SALTeens from Dallas Christian College. She was so excited about going on this tour, her first. I focused on the performing experience she would gain from this, but she was stoked about her first mission trip. Yes, she's always way ahead of me with the spiritual aspects of anything!
