Freezing Point Hits the Spot

Elizabeth Goddard's new book, Freezing Point certainly gave me chills! The romantic suspense, set in southern California, surrounds undercover agent, Jesse Mitchell, who poses as an ice sculptor. His task is to find out who is smuggling things in shipments of ice. The case becomes complicated when a new investigative reporter, Casey Wilkes, arrives at his place of business to interview him and create a human interest story based on an ice sculpting contest he enters. Dealing with the article and keeping his cover is hard enough, but adding a stalker from Casey's past turns complicated into catastrophic.

Ms. Goddard weaves the details of her stories in and out of so many knots, it's hard to believe how they could ever be unraveled and tied up neatly, but she has succeeded in the past, and she succeeds in this book by Love Inspired Suspense.

There are so many things to like about this story. It moves
quickly from action to action without dragging through the middle of the book. The ending satisfies completely and rather shockingly. Also satisfying is the relationship between the two main characters. Their interactions, particularly the physical ones, are so sweet and tender.

The book is a little long in the introduction. Few questions with lots of explanations tempted me to stop almost as soon as I started. But it doesn't last long and I was grabbed and held by the continuous action thereafter.

Definitely worthy of your attention! Push through to Chapter 3 where the real action begins, but don't totally skip the first two because you'll need need to know some of the background and interactions later on.

By the way, Elizabeth Goddard won the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writer) Carol Award for Mystery on Saturday night with her book The Camera Never Lies. You can find my review on that one HERE!

Come visit at Goodreads.com and make me your friend (oh that sounds so pathetic! Lol!). That way we can see how our book opinions stack up!

Oh and don't forget to follow this blog to be entered in my drawing tomorrow for Jody Hedlund's new book, The Doctor's Lady! I'll be giving away my copy of Freezing Point the day after its release on October 4. (That would make my drawing for this great book on October 5!)
